DE-CLUTTERING

I was lucky enough to make the highest bid for lot no. 34 at last year’s Auction of Promises in aid of St Bartholomew’s Church, Burwash: a 3 hour de-cluttering session with Tricia Petri-Clark, Home and Interior Organiser. Probably like many of you, I prevaricate rather than getting on with de-cluttering, especially if I don’t know how to recycle the items I am getting rid of. Tricia and I spent a very productive but fun afternoon sorting through boxes of items which haven’t been touched in years. Lots of people benefited [charity shops, book shops etc] and it was all painless thanks to Tricia’s kind, caring nature. She makes suggestions but is understanding if her client feels unsure about them. However, the seed has been sown and, in some cases, her ideas will be followed through at a later date.
I now have 2 empty wardrobes which I can use for their proper purpose! One of which now houses lots of pretty storage boxes containing all my patchwork and quilting materials in one place. Tricia gave me tips on re-organising some things in my home which I am delighted with too. Some suggestions have already been effected, and others are in the pipeline. I shall certainly ask for her help again at a later date and have no hesitation in recommending her as the perfect ‘spur’ to make much-needed changes.
